Title: EEOC Regulations and Update

Join us as Veronica Cox, EEOC Trail Attorney presents EEOC Regulations and Updates. Attorney Cox obtained her undergraduate degree from UGA and her Juris Doctorate from Mercer University School of Law. Veronica is in her 7th year of legal practice and her 5th year as a Trial Attorney at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Atlanta District Office. Veronica was recently elected as President-Elect of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia. Veronica is a three-time recipient of the Award for Outstanding Service to the Public, a graduate of the Young Lawyers Division Leadership Academy, and a published author in the Young Lawyers Division Review.

The updates will touch on important EEOC topics such as:

  • EEO Protected Bases: EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) protected bases encompass factors like race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, and genetic information, ensuring fair treatment in the workplace regardless of these characteristics.
  • The EEOC Process: The EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) process involves filing complaints related to workplace discrimination, harassment, or retaliation, followed by an investigation and potential resolution through mediation or litigation.
  • Engaging with the EEOC: Employers and employees engage with the EEOC by filing charges, participating in investigations, and potentially resolving disputes through conciliation or in court if necessary.
  • EEOC Charge Statistics: EEOC charge statistics provide insights into trends and patterns of discrimination in the workplace, helping to identify areas for improvement and enforcement efforts.
  • Best EEO Practices for Employers: Best EEO practices for employers include implementing proactive policies, providing training on diversity and inclusion, conducting fair and thorough investigations of complaints, and fostering a culture of respect and equity in the workplace.
